2014 Budget Drive
Sharing with The Unitarian Universalist
Church of Little Rock
Work is starting on our 2014 Stewardship campaign for UUCLR and you can expect several changes in this year’s process: Historically, we have conducted our annual campaign in April. Next year, it will be moved up to February. This allows completion before Spring, when attention turns to the
outdoors and seasonal activities. This will better enable completion of our budget forecasting before the church year ends.
In our Church bylaws, membership definition now includes a responsibility for yearly financial support to the church from all membersp–and, we hope, frequent friends–of UUCLR. As such, next year’s
campaign will focus on income-based gifting, using group seminars to talk about Stewardship to the church and how we all benefit from this, both in what we gain as members/friends and what we gift in support. This will reduce the number of individual calls and in-home meetings we’ve done in the past. Those that wish to have a one-on-one meeting will be able to schedule one with a Gifting Guide.
We will update our Stewardship webpage to incorporate new tools to allow you to do your own private
research on what you value and invest in the church, both in what you receive as a member/friend and what you gift in support of the church. This should be operational by December 31st. Future Outer
Circle articles in January and February will cover additional changes and activities.
I also wish to THANK all members that have responded to our letters regarding membership and
stewardship by submitting pledges for this church year! The response has been superb and is helping with our budget deficit in a large way.
