We Are Our Treasure ~ Stewardship 2014

We are Our Treasure

We're Doing Things Differently This Year....

Come to a Reception!

Instead of individual meetings with a canvasser this year, there will be several hosted receptions in member's homes and one at the church as a chance to enjoy some wine, food and have a great time together.

We'll discuss our church, ask questions, and get help in completing Affirmation of Membership/Friendship Gifting Forms for 2014.

How Much to Give?

Use the ‘Sharing Your Treasure' online worksheet to determine your level of Church Wealth and Financial Health. This tool can help you determine what gift might be right for you. Or download a paper form HERE.

You may print off a copy of the Affirmation of Membership/Friendship Gifting Form, fill in the requested information and return it to the Church, or come to a reception, fill it out and turn it in there.

Let’s Get Automated!

The Finance/Stewardship Committee encourages you to consider making a regular monthly contribution to our beloved congregation by a method that allows your gift to go straight from your account to the church, known as automated giving.

This process truly saves many hours of volunteer time by our Treasurer and Dispersing Officer.

The FAQs of Automated Gifts

Why does automated giving benefit the church?
  • It ensures regular monthly contribution income – it stabilizes the flow of income into the church and helps the treasurer maintain a consistent amount of money to pay the bills.
  • It is less processing work for our finance volunteers and office staff.
  • Regular income is a mark of the financial health of our church!

What are my automated options?
  • Direct Bank Draft: Many banks now offer direct bill pay from your account. Ask your bank if you don’t already use this option. It is a wonderful way to pay utilities, housing, oh—AND your pledge! There is no charge to the church, and depending on your account, often no charge to you.
  • VanCo Services: Sign up for this option with forms available through the church or via download.  This option moves money directly from your bank account to the church. There is a very small fee to the church for this service.

Why does automated giving benefit me?
  • If you travel, work, or just can’t always make it to church, you don’t need to fret getting your contribution in the offering plate or having to mail it in.  It’s one less thing to worry about with your busy schedule.
  • But what if I like to place something in the offering plate?  By all means do! We want you to continue your support of our Share-the-Plate charity initiatives and to offer contributions when you feel moved to do so.  Your heartfelt blessing of the offering plate is so important, whether you make a financial gift every week or not!

And what if I just don’t want to sign up for automated giving?

If you don’t want to use automated giving, don’t. If you think it might be a good option for you, sign up today! We simply want to offer this as an option that may be beneficial to you AND to our beloved community.

The most important thing is simply to give generously of the abundance in your life, whether that be once a year, once a week, or with the coins you found in the couch cushions. The abundance of your life becomes the abundance of our church!
